CSS Superdouche: Nifty Tool With A Strange Name
CSS Superdouche is a handly little tool to well, clean up your sloppy CSS files. A friend referred me to this the other day, and I’ve been using it ever since.
It’s basically a web app where you enter the URL to your CSS file, select from a few options like “remove all whitespace, indent CSS, & newline before opening brace”, the click the submit button to have it grab your CSS and pretty it up. It’s that simple.
When I ran it on a 10kb style sheet, it told me it reduced the file size by 38.8%. I looked and it was actually down to just under 7kb. It did remove some of the pretty comments I had in there. (you know, the ones with all the nice asterisk boxes around the comment text) but those were pretty much useless anyhow.
The website isn’t pretty at all, but I guess thats just a continuation of the tools purpose. No fluff, no pretty bells and whistles, just a tool that works like it should.
As far as the name, I doubt you’ll forget it any time soon. Hurry, rush now and Superdouche your CSS.
