In conjunction with another post a few weeks back, I decided to add a few points to clarify some of the problems I have in general with recieving web content in Word files. It’s not that I debate the usefuleness of word processing programs in general, it’s just that Word file attachments in particular are rapidly becoming more and more popular among users to transport documents, most of whom do not realize the problems they can cause.

I found a nice site today with a refreshingly simple interface to upload and securely store up to 1GB of files online. At dropboks.com, there are no long forms to fill out. No applications to download and install. You just navigate to the page, login, upload and download files as needed.

I was cruising dealcatcher.com on new years day and found this great deal on a Verbatim Store’n'Go 4GB USB Drive for just $17.98 from OfficeMax.com. I didn’t really need the thing, but knowing what the normal price is for even a 2GB drive, I jumped at the deal and ordered one right up. I figured this must be some kind of super after Christmas clearance price or something along those lines. I promptly paid the total $28.07 with the tax and shipping and set about waiting for my new toy to arrive. Read more

2007 just rolled in out of nowhere it seems. The holidays were mostly a blur for me as I just relocated back to Texas from Virginia. I had been in southwest Virginia for about 4 and a half years and finished the remainder of my 10 year stint in Virginia Beach.
The Dallas area has changed a lot in 10 years. I imagine if I had spent that much time away from anywhere else I would say the same thing. While familiar, things don’t really seem like home here any more. I still like the change and am glad to be back, it’s just more of an adjustment than I thought it would be. Read more

Adventure Parasail and Rudee Inlet Jet Ski of Virginia Beach launched their new site just before the Memorial Day weekend. Adventure Parasail operates from Rudee Inlet at the south end of the Virginia Beach oceanfront and runs parasail tours from 9:00 am daily.
The new website style was based on the company’s existing print ads, which were fun, colorful and enticing. Even in it’s infancy, the Adventure Parasail website has had a great deal of visitor traffic due to the client publishing the URL in print ads as well as working dilligently to get the site listed in travel and vacation portal sites.
Take a minute and check out the site at www.beachparasail.com and if you’re in the Virginia Beach area, take some time to go down to Rudee Inlet, meet the folks and take a parasail tour. You can’t beat it.
