If you’re a graphic artist or developer, especially one with a new MacBook Pro or any of the other Intel chip equipped macs, you should RUN to the Adobe website and download the free beta version of Adobe’s latest generation of the popular Photoshop application dubbed Photoshop CS3. The application is a free 2 day trial BUT, if you have a registered version of Photoshop CS2, you can register that serial to unlock the new beta version for unlimited use. If you don’t already have CS2 and want to use the new version, you will have to purchase a CS2 liscense and then upgrade from there.

2007 just rolled in out of nowhere it seems. The holidays were mostly a blur for me as I just relocated back to Texas from Virginia. I had been in southwest Virginia for about 4 and a half years and finished the remainder of my 10 year stint in Virginia Beach.
The Dallas area has changed a lot in 10 years. I imagine if I had spent that much time away from anywhere else I would say the same thing. While familiar, things don’t really seem like home here any more. I still like the change and am glad to be back, it’s just more of an adjustment than I thought it would be. I was recently sent a link to this article and found it to be extremely timely. As a professional web developer myself, I find myself in a constant struggle to produce a quality site. The struggle isn’t with technology or design, but with the multitude of armchair designers whose ideas clutter the site and impede good usability. I’ve reproduced the article below. The original article is posted at http://www.seomoz.org/blogdetail.php?ID=1230 and was written by Matt Inman.

Adventure Parasail and Rudee Inlet Jet Ski of Virginia Beach launched their new site just before the Memorial Day weekend. Adventure Parasail operates from Rudee Inlet at the south end of the Virginia Beach oceanfront and runs parasail tours from 9:00 am daily.
The new website style was based on the company’s existing print ads, which were fun, colorful and enticing. Even in it’s infancy, the Adventure Parasail website has had a great deal of visitor traffic due to the client publishing the URL in print ads as well as working dilligently to get the site listed in travel and vacation portal sites.
Take a minute and check out the site at www.beachparasail.com and if you’re in the Virginia Beach area, take some time to go down to Rudee Inlet, meet the folks and take a parasail tour. You can’t beat it.

Another good read by Mindy Wagner over at Web Designer Depot on mood boards for web projects..
- #As the ubiquitous (and crappy) IE browser begins to wane in popularity, it's increasingly more important for developers to focus on cross-browser development. "Works on my machine" just isn't a suitable answer anymore folks.
- #Wow. I'm amazed at the "process" the SDSU logo designers had to endure and just how little they were paid to deal with it. A designer's nightmare for sure.
- #I always wondered, but now I have confirmation that baking is gay.
- #Who knew the history of the "Honka Hoota" bike horn was so compelling? Those Australian synthetic material trees must have been a godsend...
- #I don't know what the point is or why I even found it noteworthy... maybe it's all the hoopla around the cheese carving or maybe it's just the dork that's carving it up. Is it art? I guess. Either way, it was an interesting way to kill a couple of minutes. Watch the video.
- #Sadly, Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch passed away this week. If you haven't already watched his "Last Lecture" you're missing out. I would definitely recommend taking the time out to watch the video or maybe buy the book. It's great stuff.
- #Who would have thought you could have so much mindless fun playing with a spider? I'm so easily entertained some days...
- #I've always been annoying, but a chance to make an easy $350 to be someones nemesis is just too hard to resist. Sign me up please..
- #Okay kiddies, turn on the way-back machine and lets go back to 1989 for a look at the original Photo-Shop version 0.87 icon.
